چکیده
As a promising alternative to alkali-activated fly ash (AAF) for high temperature application, the degradation mechanism of ash/GGBS (AAFS) under is not clear. This work investigates physicochemical properties AAFS up 800 °C and presents their synergetic influence on thermal behavior. A quantitative assessment crack developed learn cracking Results reveal that density exhibits linear relationship with ultrasonic pulse velocity. The compressive strength exhibit positive correlation before 100 °C, but negative beyond °C. addition slag into geopolymers lessons geopolymeric behaviors such as further geopolymerization viscous sintering, aggravates damage owing compact structure unstable hybrid gel. conceptual models AAF are proposed explain low contained elevated temperatures.

Immobilization of Radioactive Waste in Fly Ash Based Geopolymers
The low-level salt waste (LAW) associated with the production of nuclear materials at US Department of Energy (DOE) facilities will be disposed of in shallow land burial sites managed by the DOE. Two of the primary contaminants of interest are Tc-99 and I-129, both soluble and long-lived radionuclides. Cs-137, a short-lived, strong gamma emitter is also a soluble contaminant of concern. In addi...

Aluminosilicate geopolymers with a high silica molar ratio have been prepared by mixing Croatian coal-ash (ASTM Class F) and sodium silicate solution (water glass, technical grade). The samples were cured at 85 °C for 8 h and 24 h in different experimental conditions. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM/EDS) have been use...
متن کاملTiO2-Based Photocatalytic Geopolymers for Nitric Oxide Degradation
This study presents an experimental overview for the development of photocatalytic materials based on geopolymer binders as catalyst support matrices. Particularly, geopolymer matrices obtained from different solid precursors (fly ash and metakaolin), composite systems (siloxane-hybrid, foamed hybrid), and curing temperatures (room temperature and 60 °C) were investigated for the same photocata...
متن کاملEffect of Fly Ash Fineness on Sorption Properties of Geopolymers Based On Liquid Glass
Abstract—Fly ash (FA) thanks to the significant presence of SiO2 and Al2O3 as the main components is a potential raw material for geopolymers production. Mechanical activation is a method for improving FA reactivity and also the porosity of final mixture; those parameters can be analysed through sorption properties. They have direct impact on the durability of fly ash based geopolymer mortars. ...
متن کاملThermal Resistance Variations of Fly Ash Geopolymers: Foaming Responses
This paper presents a comparative study of the characteristic of unfoamed and foamed geopolymers after exposure to elevated temperatures (200-800 °C). Unfoamed geopolymers were produced with Class F fly ash and sodium hydroxide and liquid sodium silicate. Porous geopolymers were prepared by foaming with hydrogen peroxide. Unfoamed geopolymers possessed excellent strength of 44.2 MPa and degrade...
